Thanks :)

Just a quick note to say that I am so thankful for all of your comments on my last post.  I know that was a very depressing post, but what can I say - I was depressed.  I am over it now, there are way too many things going on right now - I can't just focus on the fill problem.  I am still waiting for Dr. Ren's office to review my files and get me set up.  Tammy told me to call her later this week for an update - there is nothing I can do, but wait - so why get upset?  Right?

Anyway, I am happy to say that we are now in our new apartment!  It is so beautiful, I still can't believe that I live there! I was extremely sad to be moving from NYC to Jersey City - I am a snob, I will admit it.  I mean my neighborhood in the city was perfect, I lived on the Upper West Side.  I had Central Park on one side and Riverside Park on the other - both in walking distance.  Plenty of bars and restaurants, we rarely left our neighborhood.  However; our apartment building and actual apartment - not so nice.  It was dark, old and drab.  Our new building - amazing!

This is our building, we live on the 16th floor in the green tower...

This was taken in our kitchen, looking into the living area...

This is the view from the left of the living room...

This is the view from the bedroom...

It is so bright, my cats love it!  We have huge windows in the living room and the bedroom.  Now the views are not anything special - the Statue of Liberty is just to the right of our viewing area and the city skyline is not the heart of the city, but it is much better than looking at a brick wall like our old apartment!  I have a really beautiful gym, an outdoor pool and hot tub, a garage and a bunch of crazy amenities!  As for bars and restaurants, I am pleasantly surprised.

Well that's it for now!  I will be back soon to let you know the latest on the fill saga!

Frustrated

I am totaly frustrated right now.  I went in for my fill this morning, once Chrissy was done she gave me a small glass of water and told me to sip.  I took a total of two sips and felt tight, not as bad as last time, but definitely uncomfortable.  I was prepared to leave and see if it got better over the next couple of days - I really need to feel this fill.  I didn't really feel much of a difference in the last fill; which ended up being about 1 cc.  So I got my scarf and coat on, only to realize that I could not swallow my saliva - gross.  This is exactly what happened last time, what is going on here!  Chrissy came back in and took out what she just put in - I am now back to what I was this morning - 5 cc's.  WTF, this can not be my sweat spot - there is no way.  I started to cry and said "This is it, I am on my own from now on?"  She said that I will need to get my next fill in Radiology because I am super sensitive.  However, they can't fit me in until well into March - which my insurance is no longer covering them beginning March 1st.

I need to get into Dr. Ren's office right away, but they won't even talk to me until they have all of my records.  Then they need time to review them.  When they finally can schedule me, what if it isn't until April or longer?  I am so upset.

Oh, did you ask me how I am coping with this?  I thought you did - Well, I am eating one million Mini Reese's Cups that my assistant gave me for Valentine's Day.  'Cause that will solve my problem...

Thanks, once again to Tina for the nomination!  I am so touched!

Here are the rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you for this award;
  • Copy the award and post it in your blog;
  • Link to the blog of the person who nominated you;
  • Tell seven interesting things about yourself;
  • Nominate seven bloggers and;
  • Post links to the blogs of your nominees.
And the Nominees are...
(These are in no particular order and I did 8, not 7)
  1. Catherine - One of a few blogs that I found pre-band.  There really wasn't much out there at the time and I was so happy to find her blog.  I connected instantly with her blog because she lived in NYC like me and because of all of her success she has had while still living a good life.  She enjoys great food and drink while losing - I want to be like Catherine when I grow up!
  2. Amy aka Oprah - What can I say about Amy's blog - it is fabulous!  She is extremely honest and such an incredibly strong person.  I found her blog around the same time that I found Catherine's and also read her entire blog from the very beginning!
  3. Jacquie - What an amazing person!  I am lucky enough to have met up with her a few times for dinner.  She has come so far and continues to be successful!  Oh, and the clothes, she gave me a boat load of clothes last week - love her!  She is currently working on the C25K program and I hope she joins the race I am doing in April.  http://www.active.com/framed/event_detail.cfm?CHECKSSO=0&EVENT_ID=1798820
  4. Jen - Another NYC Bandster that I have met a couple of times.  She was generous enough to give me tons of her "too big" clothes back in January.  Jen is also in the progress of completing the C25K program.  Hopefully she will be running in April as well!  http://www.active.com/framed/event_detail.cfm?CHECKSSO=0&EVENT_ID=1798820
  5. Kristen - She just reached Onederland, yay!!  She has also been kind enough to send me some awesome clothes.  In fact, I wore the white dress with blue and brown flowers yesterday to a conference and got so many compliments!  You have great taste in cloths, Kristen!
  6. Gen - I <3 Gen!  She is such an inspiration to me!  Every time she posts pictures, I get a huge smile on my face - she looks amazing!
  7. Cara - This woman continues to inspire me, she is so motivating!  Her comments on my posts really help me.  This is another person who posts pics up and makes me smile!  She is so beautiful and the success that she has has thus far really shows!
  8. Jordan - I love that we now have a couple of guys in our community!  I literally lol'ed when I read his blog title!  He has not been banded as of yet, but is focused on success.
7 "Interesting" Things About Me...
  1. No one in my family really knows about the surgery - and I am okay with that!
  2. My closest friends are from High School - thats a long time!
  3. I have moved a total of four times in the past 6 years.  This includes my upcoming move on Saturday.
  4. I had a serious addiction to Blistex for years - there was an intervention.
  5. I hate flying, but I still do it.  I won't let my fear hold me back from seeing the world.  But, in my mind I am sure that the plane is going to crash.  I can't have the try down EVER because it will be in my way when we crash.
  6. I love to sing.
  7. I have two cats...
Elizabeth - 13 Years Old

Bella - 15 Months Old

Bless me Ladies and Gents For I Have Sinned...

It has been 13 days since my last post!  Sorry, just a little Catholic humor...

Anywho, It has been quite some time since my last post.  I was also very behind in everyone's blogs, but I am caught up now, whew.  Imagine my surprise when I read Tina's blog and saw that she has presented me with a BBA!    I mean, I haven't been the best blogger lately.  Thank you so much Tina for the thoughtful award - it really means a lot to me - even though it is probably the NYC food porn that got me nominated!  I will post my official BBA acceptance in my next post.

Just a little update on what has kept me away from my bloggin' lovelies (and whatever the male version would be)...

My husband and I are in the process of moving, the actual move date is this Saturday.  Things are getting crazy - I can not stand the boxes - every where I turn there are boxes and then more boxes!!  Also, I have decided to keep my weight the same this week since I can not find my scale!  My guess - it is in a box somewhere!

I was schedule for a fill last Wednesday, but Tuesday I received the call from the office stating that they would not be opening on Wednesday due to the forecasted snow.  Really?!  I went to work on Wednesday, what was the big deal?  So, then she tells me that she can't reschedule me until March, WTF!!  I told her that that was not possible for two reasons 1.)  I NEED a fill NOW!!!  2.)  My insurance will no longer cover my doctor starting March 1st (more to come on that story).  She agreed to squeeze me in this Wednesday (tomorrow), yay!!  I can't wait to get this fill.

The insurance story - I received some bad news recently regarding my surgeon's office.  Apparently my insurance company and the hospital are fighting, someone is being greedy no doubt.  Well, this greed has directly affected me - my insurance company will no longer cover the hospital/surgeon.  Boo Hoo!  I really love the RN, she gives the best fills and I am so comfortable over there.  The bright side - I will be moving farther away from his office and it would be a pain in the ass to get there.  So, I have contacted Dr. Ren's office to become a patient with her.  My current records need to be released over to their office and then they need time to review my files.  I have heard so much about Dr. Ren from my fellow NYC bloggers, so I am sure I made the right choice.  In fact, I might be the only NYC blogger who doesn't see her!

Hello!

This weekend was great!  Another food and alcohol filled weekend; however, I was able to lose 1.5 lbs - not too bad!

Saturday I took Dan to see the Lion King for his birthday - he has wanted to go for a few years but I just really had no desire to see it.  I mean there are so many shows out there, can't we something that is a little more adult?!  Anyway, I decided to give in and I am glad I did - it was amazing - the set, the costumes, the music, the cast - wonderful!

We went to Blue Fin for dinner before the show and it was really good.  I was a little nervous about it because it is right in the heart of Times Square, which is a tourist section that we rarely visit.  They had a good wright up by the Times and a good Zagat rating so we figured, what the heck!  It is mostly seafood, we started with the Shellfish Teir which was amazing!

This is not the one we got - ours was MUCH smaller and didn't have lobster!!

For dinner I had the Grilled Branzini, such amazing Mediterranean flavors!

Then, for dessert (which we never really order) we decided to get the Tuna Tartar and share it!

And of course we had a couple glasses of wine, but all in all, I think I ate really healthy.  I am happy with my band and how much I am really getting to know it.  I am a little curious what life with the band will be like after my third fill, which is next Wednesday.  I have not really PB'd yet, I have definitely gotten stuck, but it has always gone down on it's own.  In most cases, it is because I am eating way too fast and/or not chewing properly.

Recently Dan hired a new Golf Pro at work and we got together with him and his wife for brunch Sunday.  We had a great time, they made reservations at The Standard Grill for 2:00 pm.  Dan and I got there at 1:30, pretty early, so we decided to get a drink at Fig and Olive.  I had the Fig and Olive Dirty Martini!

Super Fabulous!

So, as I am writing this post someone brought a package into my office.  I am so excited, I just received the cutest clothes from Kristen!  I can't wait to go home and try them on!  Who am I kidding, I am going to try some on in the bathroom, I just know I can't wait until it's time to go home!
